Floris studied Dutch law at the Erasmus University Rotterdam and notarial law at VU University Amsterdam. He also successfully completed a post-graduate specialist programme in Company and Corporate Law at the Grotius Academie.

Floris started his career as a deputy civil-law notary in 1997.

Until May 2002, he was employed at Steins Bisschop Meijburg & Co (the KPMG law firm) and then at VMW Taxand (Van Mens en Wisselink).

He was appointed as a civil-law notary in 2005.

Floris has been a partner at Civilence since 2014.

Floris specialises in company law and advises on mergers and acquisitions, restructuring, corporate governance, joint ventures, private equity, investment funds, and employee participation schemes. He regularly acts on behalf of clients in national and international mergers, cross-border conversions, acquisitions, and restructuring, and advises a large number of national and international companies on their corporate structure.
