Marcel studied notarial law at VU University Amsterdam.

After completing his studies in 1999, Marcel started his career at the corporate law section of Houthoff Buruma in Amsterdam.

Marcel has been a partner at Civilence since 2007.

Marcel was appointed as a civil-law notary in 2010.

Marcel is specialised in corporate law. Among his areas of activity are the establishing of partnerships, the transfer and issuing of shares, mergers and acquisitions, private equity, restructuring, securing collateral and corporate governance issues. Marcel advises extensively on the establishment of joint ventures.
